What's in her mind

We didn't go any where else during the weeked except to get Zara her new bed from Ikea. But here are 2 conversations which took place last week which makes me wonder what kind of thoughts Zara goes through in her mind. Daddy wanted to take a shower. I asked him to see if he can shower Zara. Daddy: "Zara, come, Daddy bath bath you." Zara: *stared at Daddy's naked body* Don't want!" Daddy: "Why don't want." Zara : "Because Daddy so ugly. Like ugly duckring (duckling)." Daddy and I both tried to stiffle our laughs. So Zara thinks Daddy is handsome, but has got an ugly body. Daddy said this is probably her 'natural defence' against men, no naked men should go near her, even Daddy. On another occasion, Zara asked me to go down to play with her, and I said I don't want. She said something I couldn't hear from upstaris, but Tuyam repeated what she said. Tuyam claimed that Zara must be angry for me rejecting her, and she told Tuyam, "Kakak, cut cut mummy. Then cook mummy. And then eat mummy." Now upon hearing that, I quickly went down and question Zara. Me : "Why Zara said Zara wanted to eat mummy?" Zara : *quiet* (her way of showing she's embarrassed at what she'd done Me : "Zara eat mummy already, then no more mummy. Who sleep with you?" Zara : *quiet* Me : "Zara is Goliath? So naughty one huh?" (she has recently started reading some bible stories, and so far, David and Goliath is her favourite) Zara : "Nooooo. Not Goh-lier. Cut cut fish and eat fish only."

Sesame,
I got a bit worried though when she say such things..
She’s scared of me, because I’m the only one who scolds and smacks her, so she won’t ‘bully’ me like she does with Daddy and maid. :P

Potential Mom,
So far, this is the first time she said she wants to cut people up.
But after my ‘lecture’, she knows she can’t do that because it’s not nice. :P

Jesslyn,
I don’t know where she learnt that from. I got worried too.

Contented mum,
She used that as well. I call it her emotional black mail. My respond to that will be, “but mummy loves you, why you don’t want mummy?” Sometimes she softens, sometimes she still refuse to come to me.

Shoppingmum,
I really don’t know where she got that idea from.
But luckily, now she knows it’s not a good thing to say

Blurblur,
Wah.. so much love for me until she wants me to be in her stomach?
I think she’s just angry, and not aware what she was saying.

Mickell,
We are very open couple mah. For now still ok, wait till she’s older then we’ll stop.

Chooipeng,
Cute leh? Girls are all cute. :P

Michelle,
Yeah.. we do.. We open minded one. :P

Laundryamah,
It’s ok mah.. not ok meh? He used to bath her when she was younger, but now she refused..

Daddy is handsome in that "ugly" kind of way??? Who can figure out what kiddos are thinking.

I hope the fish tasted good. Certainly it was more satisfying. Especially for you. hehe

it's quite fun that you're recording all this down, on what you wonder what goes thru her mind at such a young age. I certainly didn't remember anything except maybe bits of kindergarten, I think it would be such an enlightening read for her next time!

I think Zara should start training to be a criminal court lawyer when she's about 8 or 9 - give her a few years, she can take on anyone in a dispute!

I guess mummies need to do most of the disciplining hor? I'm the only one Lucas doesn't dare to bully also...so far he he

Like you, I would be concerned with her 'cutting' words. Just wondering, does Zara play the game, "chop chilli, chop chilli, chop, chop, chop"?

Anyhow, good that she listens to you. I think you're very close to her, which is wonderful.
